J. Scott Miller was born in Olympia, Washington on March 17, 1953. In 1984 he was admitted to the bar of the Washington State Supreme Court, the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Washington and the United States 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1992 he was also admitted to practice before the bar of the Idaho State Supreme Court and the United States District Court of Idaho. Mr. Miller was graduated from Gonzaga University with a B.A. degree (magna cum laude) in 1980, and received a J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1984. Mr. Miller is a member of the Spokane County Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the Idaho State Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates, and was elected as a Fellow in the American Bar Foundation in 1993. He is also an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University School of Law where he teaches Insurance Law. Mr. Miller's practice emphasizes insurance defense, insurance coverage matters, employment discharge disputes, business law, civil litigation and appeals. He practices in both Washington and Idaho.
